This research article examines Russia’s presence in the Romanian public sphere during the unprecedented four rounds of elections in 2024, which culminated in the first-ever annulment of a presidential election. It aims to analyze how Russia sought to legitimize its invasion of Ukraine, diminish Romanian public support for Ukraine, and erode confidence in national authorities and in the commitment to democracy and Western values.
